2005 Château Benoit Freds Red
The 2005 vintage offered Chateau Benoit fantastic fruit and we blended Fred’s Red from select vineyards in Oregon and Washington. Dark ruby in color, this wine offers sweet notes of briar, leather, and black pepper on the nose. Flavors of blackberries and cassis frame the soft tannins in the mouth. Fred’s Red is a charming, fruit forward blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc, and syrah and named in honor of Fred Benoit, one of Oregon’s pioneering wine growers and producers.
